New Hope Community Church is serious about missions! In February of 2008, our church participated in our third mission trip to Pignon Haiti. Our group consisted of members of New Hope, several college students, students from Fort Lauderdale Christian School, Westminster Academy, Knox Seminary, and others from various places to make up a super group of missionaries. God blessed us with good health, good travel, and great ministry! Below are some of the pictures of the trip.

The 2008 Haiti mission team at 4:00 am getting ready to leave.

Kelly, Joe, and Joy are ready for the flight across the mountains to Pignon.

We flew to Pignon from Port Au Prince on these planes flown by Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF).

One of the first things we did was to pass out gift packages at a local school. Hassetou is hard at work.

Kelly passes out gift passages.

Scott, who is chairman of the Mission Committee at NHCC, got to experience our mission outreach first hand.

The children were overjoyed to receive their gifts. Most have never received a free gift, so we always bring some with us so we can explain how salvation is a free gift from God.

Off to the work site (how many people can you fit into a pickup truck in Haiti?).

Our work project consisted of laying a foundation for a new school/church in Savant Rouge. The rocks were extremely heavy. Eric and Matthew had to carry many of these rocks for long distances.

Sarah, Kelly, Ashley W. & Ashley C. show they are more than up for the task.

Joe , Ashley & Bradley take a break in the shade.

On Sunday afternoon, the team enjoyed climbing "the mountain".

On Monday, we held a clinic at La Belle Mer. This is our completed clinic building.

Scott weighs a man who visited the clinic. Most of the people had never been on a scale.

Ben, Ashley, Allen, & Joy take a break from the action.

Janet and Matthew shared the Gospel with literally hundreds of children that day.

Lois Van Houten (a member of NHCC) made these dresses and shorts for the children of Pignon.

Our guest house in Haiti. This is a huge house by Haitian standards, but during the time we were there, over 50 people were living in this house. Crowded!

One last shot of the group before we started the long trip home.
