New Hope Community Church is serious about missions! As a church, we support missionaries in various parts of the world. But we also feel it's important for us to get out into the mission field ourselves. Toward this end, the senior High youth group went to Haiti in February of 2006. Below are some of the pictures of the trip.

Part of the team poses in the pre-dawn hours in front of Missionary Flight International's DC-3 that would take us to Haiti.

The team flew to Haiti in a 1942 vintage DC-3. Even though the accommodations are a little different than modern airliners, the flight was comfortable and fun.

The team walks through the Haiti equivalent of Publix and Walmart. This is market day in Pignon and the little village is packed with people.

The kids in Haiti are friendly and love to meet and spend time with Americans who come to work with them.

Our work project was to paint one of the schools we have built in rural Haiti. Ashley, Kelly & Joy look like they're up to the task!

The team poses in front of the school they painted. We also held a revival here each evening and the team shared the gospel and sang for the congregation.

Many of the villages we visited were in the midst of a famine and literally starving. The team shares bread with the children in the tiny village of Sa'Cassia

Kids EE, with it's concise presentation of the Gospel, and hand motions is a perfect evangelistic tool for a country like Haiti

The Haitian children in one of the schools we built show how well they have learned the gospel from our missionary team.
