New Hope Community Church is serious about missions! In June of 2007, our youth group participated in our first mission trip to Cherokee, N.C. Our young missionaries ran a vacation Bible school for almost 50 young Cherokee children from ages 6 to 12. We also painted the house of a needy Cherokee family. Below are some of the pictures of the trip.

The team outside their cabins in the woods on the Cherokee reservation.
The team enjoys the compelling drama, "Unto These Hills".
This is the little church where we worshipped.
And we thought our church was small! The team poses with the entire congregation.
Jocelyn and Sabrina prepare for the 'God' skit.
Our schedule was brutal. The team worked all day long so they had to practice their skits at night.
The Jericho skit was a huge hit with the Cherokee youngsters.
Sabrina (as the lame man that Jesus healed) dances with her new-found legs.
Our work project was to paint the house of a needy Cherokee woman. Alicia and Michelle paint the trim on the front of the house.
Sabrina had to fight wasps and bees to paint the trim on the back of the house.
Jeff gets the house ready for painting.
Kailey, Alicia, Jocelyn & Michelle take time out from painting to teach some Cherokee children, "Father Abraham".
Our chores at the camp were to clean the bathrooms for the entire camp twice a day. Alicia and Alexis are hard at work.
The team took a day off to go white water rafting. The first raft goes over the falls...
...and there goes the second!
On the last night, our team taught the entire camp how to explain the gospel to children using "Kid's EE".
